Refund and Cancellation Policy
When you can cancel, what you get back, and how long it takes.
This policy tells you when you can cancel, when you get your money back, how much, and how long it takes. It applies to everything we sell, and it forms part of our Terms and Conditions. It does not take away any right you have under South African law.
1. Your cooling-off right on electronic transactions
Where you buy from us as a consumer over the internet or by email, section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 gives you seven calendar days from the day of the transaction, or from the day you receive what you bought, to cancel without giving a reason and without penalty. We refund what you paid within 30 days of that cancellation. You pay only the direct cost of returning anything sent to you, which for us is nothing, because everything we supply is digital.
The Act itself excludes two things from that right, and they matter here:
- Digital products you have already accessed — audio or audiovisual recordings, data or software once the download or the access has been used.
- Services already begun with your agreement before the seven days are up.
So if you want to keep the cooling-off right, simply do not download the files and tell us not to start before the seven days have passed. We will always respect that, and we will tell you plainly at the time when starting early will end the right.
2. Before we start work, or before a session
You may cancel any order in writing before we have begun work. We refund everything you paid for that order, in full, with no charge.
A booked recording, production or mixing session holds a dated slot, a room and people. If you cancel or move it:
| When you tell us | What happens |
|---|---|
| More than 5 business days before the session | Full refund, or move the date free |
| 2 to 5 business days before | Move the date free, or 50% refunded |
| Less than 48 hours before, or no-show | Fee retained; one reschedule offered at our discretion |
If we cancel or move a session, you choose: a new date, or a full refund.
3. Once work has started
Where you have asked us to begin and we have begun, you may still cancel. We refund what you paid, less the value of the work properly done up to the day you tell us, and we send you a short written breakdown of that calculation together with any files already produced. We do not keep more than the work we actually did.
4. Beats, instrumentals and delivered files
A beat, instrumental, mix or master is a digital product. Once the file has been delivered and downloaded, the cooling-off right in clause 1 no longer applies to it, because you already have it. You are still fully covered if something is wrong with it — see clause 6.
5. Campaign and marketing services
You may cancel a campaign at any time. Anything we have already committed to a third party on your instruction — advertising spend placed, servicing already sent — cannot be recovered and is not refunded; everything not yet committed is refunded in full, with the breakdown in writing. Because campaign results depend on platforms and audiences we do not control, a result you hoped for and did not get is not on its own a ground for a refund, and we tell you that before you buy.
6. If what we deliver is faulty, late, or not what was agreed
Tell us within 14 days of delivery. We will fix it at no charge. If we cannot put it right within a reasonable time, you may have the order cancelled and the amount you paid for that part refunded in full. If we fail to deliver by the agreed date and you no longer want it, you get everything you paid for the undelivered part back. These rights sit alongside your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and are not limited by anything else in this policy.
7. Memberships and subscriptions
Annual memberships and data subscriptions are bought for a twelve-month term. You may cancel within seven days of purchase for a full refund, provided you have not yet downloaded or accessed the member content. After that the term runs to its end; we do not refund the unused part of a term already begun, and you keep full access until it expires.
Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the paid month. We never bill you again after you cancel. To cancel, email david@visiocorp.co — we action it and confirm in writing within two business days. If a renewal is taken after you cancelled, we refund it in full.
8. How to ask for a refund
Email david@visiocorp.co with your name, the order or invoice number, the date, the amount and what went wrong. We acknowledge within two business days and give you a written decision within ten business days.
9. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back through Payfast to the same card or account you paid from, in the same currency as the original charge. We never refund to a different account. Once we approve a refund we process it within five business days; your bank usually shows it within a further three to ten business days. We do not charge any administration fee on a refund.
10. Talk to us before a chargeback
If something is wrong, contact us first — it is nearly always faster than a chargeback, and this policy already gives you the outcome. Contacting us does not affect your right to take it up with your bank.
